Sometimes, your child may need fluids, medicines, EN (enteral nutrition), or TPN (total parenteral nutrition) after leaving the hospital. When this happens, you might take an infusion pump home with you. A home care company may also ship one to your home. Some pumps belong to St. Jude, but others are rented from outside companies.
Return the infusion pump as soon as your child no longer needs it.
When your child no longer needs their pump, please return it right away. By returning the pumps promptly, you help patients get the care and equipment they need.
If your child is using an infusion pump at home and is then admitted to the hospital, bring the pump with you to the hospital. Please let a staff member know that your pump was used at home.
Staff may ask you to return it while your child is in the hospital, or to keep it for use after your child is discharged.
