About Us

The Together by St. Jude™ online resource provides complete, trustworthy information for those facing childhood and adolescent cancer, blood disorders, and other serious health conditions.

Produced by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Together by St. Jude™ online resource offers:

  • Information about medical conditions and treatments
  • Information on supportive care for families and patients
  • Shared stories of hope and healing from patients across the world

We walk side-by-side with patients and families throughout the care journey. No matter where you are, we want to support you and provide the health information you need.

St. Jude was founded in 1962 by Danny Thomas, who felt that “no child should die in the dawn of life.” Since that time, we have become a global leader in patient- and family-centered care for children and adolescents with cancer and other serious diseases.

Our Mission

The Together by St. Jude™ online resource is part of today’s vision led by James Downing, MD, St. Jude president and CEO. Our goal is to move beyond the walls of our campus and affiliate clinics. We provide trusted, expert health information to families worldwide.

It is crucial that parents and patients have reliable and useful health information, educational resources, and the perspective of others who are affected by pediatric cancer.

James R. Downing, MD

Our Core Principles

  • Health literacy: We use best practices in health communication to make sure that all people, no matter where they live or receive care, can easily access, understand, and use our health information, services, and resources.
  • Respect for diverse individuals: Our global, educational resources speak to all people. We lessen any barriers related to race, ethnicity, culture, language, education level, and socioeconomic status.
  • Patient-centered approach: We provide information about the physical, spiritual, emotional, and practical needs of patients and families worldwide. Our educational resources will help you take the role you wish to take in your child’s care.
  • Evidence-informed practice: We provide complete, current information based on data from scientific studies and the clinical expertise of St. Jude.
  • Accessibility: We use different ways to help all people access information when and where they need it. We share this information online, in print, through videos, podcasts, and social media.
  • Effectiveness: We make sure that our information meets the learning needs of patients and families like yours.
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration: We work with a diverse team so that our patient education and information are accurate and relate to people worldwide. Our team is made up of advisers and experts, patients, family members, health care providers, and others.
