It can be hard to remember to take your medicine. But it is important to take it on time so that it can do its job.
Here are some ways to help you remember to take medicine on time:
Set an alarm on your phone or a reminder on your watch. It can beep or buzz when it is time to take your medicine.
Place notes in places you often see, such as the TV, a bathroom mirror, or the refrigerator. Change where you put your notes every so often.
Make a chart or use a calendar to mark off each time you take your medicine. Ask your pharmacist or care team about a home medication calendar and medication administration record (MAR) if interested.
You can find free medication reminder apps through the Apple App Store and Google Play. You may want to try a few to see which one works best.
Put medicines in a place you can see them. Keep them somewhere that you walk by several times a day. Keep them out of reach of children.
Link taking medicines to something you do every day. These things can include mealtimes, teeth brushing, going to bed, or when you wake up.
