Diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma at 9, Micah Winkle faced the possibility of losing his leg due to the tumor's location. He had limb-sparing surgery to remove the tumor while preserving his leg. The road to recovery was challenging, but Micah learned to walk again. He later discovered a new passion for rock climbing. Climbing helped him regain physical strength and helped him heal emotionally.
