Scavenger Hunt

The following activity can be done with the scavenger hunt cards given to your child in their Therapy to Go bag.

Targeted skills

  • Cognition: letter identification, sound identification, color identification, problem solving, critical thinking
  • Visual skills
  • Gross motor skills (large body movements)

Reminders

  • Be patient with your child. Give them enough time to complete each activity. 
  • Demonstrate and provide education to your child with each activity before having them complete them. 
  • Give your child hints during the scavenger hunt if they need them. 
  • Let your child know it is OK if they cannot find an item during the scavenger hunt.  

Activity

The On-the-Go scavenger hunt

You can do this activity anytime, anywhere, as much as you want. Just repeat steps 2–4. Use a new card each time.

  1. Take the On-the-Go scavenger hunt with you everywhere you go. 
  2. Read 1 card to your child. 
  3. Ask your child to find something around them that matches the card. 
  4. If your child cannot find anything near them, have them think of something that could match the card.
