How to Program a CADD Solis Pump: TPN

Your child might need total parenteral nutrition (TPN) from a device called a CADD Solis pump. The following tells you how to program the pump at home. 

How to program your child’s CADD Solis pump 

Follow the steps below in order. If you have questions, please ask your child’s nurse. 

1. Turn pump ON by pressing the POWER button on the right side of the pump. 
2. Check the pump’s battery life in the upper right corner of the screen. If it is less than half, put in 4 new AA batteries. Turn pump ON again by pressing the POWER button on the right side of the pump. 
3. Press Tasks button. 
4. Press select to Reset Reservoir Volume. 
5. Press Yes. 
6. Press arrow down button to View Delivery Settings. 
7. Press select. 
8. Use the down button to review each setting. If no changes are needed, press Back twice and press stop/start. 

When changes are needed 

If you need to make any changes in the program, you will need to enter a code as follows: 

Using the arrow buttons, go to  2  and press select. 

Using the arrow buttons, go to  1  and press select. 

Using the arrow buttons, go to  4   and press select. 

You will only need to enter this code once to make changes. 

Changing infusion volume

1. If you need to change the Infusion Volume, press select.
2. Use the arrow buttons to go to the new volume.
3. Press Save.

Changing the taper up

1. If you need to change the Taper Up, use the arrow down button to go to Taper Up.
2. Press select.
3. Use the arrow button to go to the new Taper Up.
4. Press Save.

Changing the taper down

1. If you need to change the Taper Down, use the arrow down button to go to Taper Down.
2. Press select.
3. Use the arrow button to go to the new Taper Down.
4. Press Save.

Changing infusion duration (how long it will last)

1. If you need to change the Infusion Duration, use the arrow down button to go to Infusion Duration.
2. Press select.
3. Use the arrow button to go to the new Infusion Duration.
4. Press Save.
5. Use the arrow down to pass by Plateau Rate and KVO Rate, you will not be changing these.

Changing reservoir volume

1. If you need to change the Reservoir Volume, use the arrow down button to go to Reservoir Volume.
2. Press select.
3. Use the arrow buttons to go to the new rate.
4. Press Save.

If you made any of the changes above

1. Press Back twice.
2. Press stop/start button.
3. Press REVIEW.
4. Press ACCEPT VALUE to accept the Infusion Volume.
5. Press ACCEPT VALUE to accept the Taper Up.
6. Press ACCEPT VALUE to accept the Taper Down.
7. Press ACCEPT VALUE to accept the Infusion Duration.
8. Press ACCEPT VALUE to accept the Plateau Rate.
9. Press ACCEPT VALUE to accept the KVO Rate.
10. Press ACCEPT VALUE to accept the Reservoir Vol.
11. Press Next. Pump will lock automatically after you have accepted values.
12. Press Yes, to start pump.
