Clinpro™ 5000 Toothpaste

What is Clinpro™ 5000?

Clinpro™ 5000 is a prescription toothpaste. Your child’s dentist may prescribe Clinpro™ 5000 toothpaste if your child has a high risk of cavities or other dental problems. 

Clinpro™ 5000 will be used as your child’s regular toothpaste. Follow all other care team recommendations for good oral health.

Benefits of Clinpro™ 5000

Clinpro™ 5000 toothpaste helps to replace minerals in your child’s teeth. These minerals strengthen your child’s teeth, reduces the risk of cavities, and improves their overall oral health. 

Clinpro™ 5000 contains 4 times the amount of fluoride as regular toothpaste. It also contains a tri-calcium phosphate ingredient. 

• Fluoride makes teeth stronger and protects your child’s teeth against bacteria. Fluoride in toothpaste works directly on the surface of the teeth. It is not absorbed into the rest of your child’s body. The American Dental Association (ADA) requires fluoride in all ADA approved toothpastes due to its benefits for oral health.
• The tri-calcium phosphate ingredient increases minerals to build stronger tooth enamel and prevent tooth decay. 

Tips for brushing teeth

It is important to make sure that your child brushes their teeth thoroughly. Follow these tips to prevent cavities and other dental problems.

• Use a soft toothbrush to brush teeth and tongue at least 2 times per day.
• Use a “thin ribbon” amount of toothpaste.
• Always brush after having sweets or sugary foods or drinks.
• Always brush at night before going to bed.
• Brush for 2 minutes.
• Make sure that the bristles of the toothbrush also brush the gumline.
• Spit out any extra toothpaste but do not rinse. Using water to rinse after brushing washes away the fluoride and tri-calcium phosphate ingredients.
• Do not eat or drink for at least 30 minutes (but ideally 2 hours) after brushing.

Safety reminders

• Do not use Clinpro™ 5000 if your child is under the age of 6 years old.
• Keep toothpaste away from small children who might eat it.
