Starting 2025 Together: A Vision for Families Worldwide
The Together by St. Jude™ online resource started with a simple but profound question. James R. Downing, MD, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital president and chief executive officer asked, “Why can’t there be an online resource that gives parents everything they need to make the right decisions—from diagnosis to treatment to long-term follow-up?”
For 6 years, the website has served as a trusted resource for parents and caregivers facing childhood cancer. In 2024, our offerings expanded to include blood disorders and infectious diseases.
As the new year begins, I am excited by the future of the Together by St. Jude™ online resource. It serves families facing childhood and adolescent cancer and other serious health conditions, no matter where the patient receives treatment.
Supporting you in your journey
We want to help you take an active role in your or your child’s care through reliable information and resources. Last year, we redesigned the website to support its growth.
In 2025, we will continue adding new content on blood disorders and infectious diseases. We will also update and strengthen our childhood and adolescent cancer information. You will see new medical information and patient stories in our video library. You will also find more topics covered by guest authors in our blog.
Connecting with you through social media
Families often turn to online communities to find and share information. Over the past year and a half, we have refreshed our social media presence.
Have you visited our Facebook page recently? It is now an extension of our website. It offers up-to-date information you can share with friends and family.
This year, we plan to launch a YouTube channel. It will feature videos and stories from around the world. Subscribe to our newsletter to be among the first to know when it launches.
Making our content more accessible
Every year, about 400,000 children develop cancer. And over 300,000 babies are born with severe blood disorders. Most of these children live in low- and middle-income countries.
Finding reliable health information can be hard, especially for non-English–speaking families. Less than 1% of online content is available in their languages. These families need educational resources they can trust—no matter where they live or what language they speak.
This year, we will begin refreshing and expanding all our non-English–language sites. We are working with partners worldwide to ensure the information is accurate and accessible to all.
Listening to more diverse voices and expertise
Last year, we formed an External Advisory Board with experts from around the world. This group is guiding our efforts and bringing fresh ideas to our work. The advisers are an important part of our team, helping us innovate and expand our outreach. We are excited to partner with them as we bring more patient and family voices into our work.
We envision a world where every family, regardless of location or language, has the knowledge and support they need to face serious childhood health conditions with hope and strength.
Whether you are starting this journey, celebrating a milestone, or honoring a loved one, we are here to provide comfort, guidance, and the assurance that you are never alone. Thank you for trusting us and using the Together by St. Jude™ online resource.
