Diego Hijano, MD, joined St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in 2014 for pediatric infectious disease fellowship training. During his fellowship, he also completed a master’s degree in clinical effectiveness at the University of Buenos Aires. To better understand immunocompromised patients, he spent extra time working with bone marrow transplant and cellular therapy recipients. He is now an associate faculty member in the St. Jude Infectious Diseases Department. He started working with Occupational Health in 2020. In 2024, he became medical director for Occupational Health and has actively supported immunization efforts.
