Madi

Leukemia survivor

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

Madi is a cancer survivor whose journey shows courage, faith, and resilience. In December 2019, she was diagnosed with aggressive acute myeloid leukemia. As a fourth grader, she was rushed from Tulsa, Oklahoma, to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, for treatment. She faced intensive chemotherapy, serious medical complications, isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the possibility of a bone marrow transplant. With support from her family, care team, school, church, and community, Madi completed treatment in July 2020 and entered remission. Today, she is a healthy teenager who enjoys animals, reading, spending time with friends, and working at a local coffee stand.
