Co-Founder, Raremark Foundation

Don Magezi is a Ugandan-born sickle cell disease advocate and the co-founder of Raremark Foundation. Living with sickle cell anemia, he has transformed his personal experience into a powerful force for change. In 2020, he co-founded Raremark Foundation, a nonprofit organization that raises awareness, empowers patients, and influences health care policy about sickle cell disease in Uganda. Under his leadership, the foundation has grown into a vital support network for patients, caregivers, and health professionals. Magezi is determined to create a future where sickle cell patients are supported and empowered. A creative at heart, he also leverages graphic design and storytelling skills to humanize the sickle cell journey and connect with audiences. His dream is to merge his artistry with advocacy by publishing a visual memoir.
