Alejandra Mendez is the mother of a childhood cancer survivor. She is involved in local and global projects to improve the quality of life of childhood cancer patients, survivors, and their families. She is vice president of Childhood Cancer International and a board member of Fundación Nuestros Hijos, Chile. She is co-chair of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP) Global Health Network – Patient, Family, and Stakeholder Engagement (PFSE) Working Group and a member of the SIOP Program for Advancing Research Capacity for Pediatric Cancer Clinical Trials (PARC) Committee. Mendez is also a member of the My Child Matters Program experts committee at Foundation S. She lives in Santiago, Chile, with her husband and 3 sons.
