Yadiel
Student and High-Performance Athlete
Yadiel is a student and athlete from Puerto Rico. At age 15, he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and received treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. His treatment included multiple surgeries, including the amputation of his left leg. Despite these challenges, Yadiel has continued his studies with academic excellence and has achieved success in adaptive sports, especially parapowerlifting. He has won medals at both national and international levels. He also gives talks to inspire other young people and support those going through similar challenges. Yadiel aspires to study biomedical engineering and develop prosthetics that help others keep moving forward.
