Originally from Mexico City, Ximena Aranza Gutiérrez Jiménez was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right femur at age 14. To increase her chances of survival, she underwent an amputation of her right leg and continued treatment. Determined to regain her independence, Gutiérrez Jiménez found strength in art and movement. She is now an eyebrow specialist and makeup artist who helps others feel confident through her craft. Passionate about extreme sports, she practices mountaineering and diving, becoming the first woman with a leg amputation to climb Pico de Orizaba, Mexico’s highest mountain. She is part of the cancer survivor network Cimas de la Esperanza.
