Tsetsegsaikhan Batmunkh, MD, PhD, earned her medical degree and PhD from the Peoples Friendship University of Russia. She also holds a master's degree in public health and health management from the University of New South Wales, Australia.
Batmunkh is founder and CEO of the National Cancer Council of Mongolia. Her previous roles include director of the Medicine and Medical Devices Regulatory Agency, adviser to the Health Minister, and an officer in the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization.
She has led research on studies of cervical cancer, the HPV vaccine, tobacco control, and childhood cancer. Her advocacy has helped improve cancer care in Mongolia, including restarting HPV vaccination programs and expanding access to essential cancer medicines.
