Pablo Allard Méndez
Childhood Cancer Survivor and Psychologist
Pablo Allard Méndez is a Chilean survivor of childhood cancer. He was first diagnosed at age 2 and faced multiple relapses during his childhood. He had intensive treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, autologous bone marrow transplants, and the removal of affected organs. These experiences had a profound impact on his life and awakened his vocation.
Over time, Pablo turned pain into purpose. He studied psychology and specialized in psycho-oncology to support children, young people, and families going through similar processes. He co-founded Luz de Esperanza, the national network of childhood cancer survivors in Chile, and is an active member of SURNET, a global network dedicated to highlighting the needs of survivors.
Today, he works as a psychologist at Fundación Camino, where he continues his mission to provide support, well-being, and hope to those facing cancer. Each story he follows also contributes to his own process of healing and growth.
