Julia Neely
Program Coordinator, HPV Cancer Prevention Program
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
Julia Neely is a Program Coordinator for the HPV Cancer Prevention Program at St. Jude, a community outreach program which aims to reduce human papillomavirus (HPV)-associated cancer deaths locally and nationally by increasing HPV vaccination rates.
Neely is responsible for helping to engage and strengthen partnerships with local, regional and national groups; identifying opportunities and priorities for increasing HPV vaccination; and implementing and evaluating activities to increase HPV vaccination.
“Through my work with the HPV Cancer Prevention Program, I hope that the general public will learn about the accessibility, safety, and efficacy of this vaccine,” says Neely. “I hope that there will be an increase in vaccination rates and a decrease in the number of deaths related to HPV cancers. There are so many tools and resources available to us that we can see prevention accomplished during our lifetime.”
Prior to joining the St. Jude staff in February 2021, Neely gained extensive experience in health education and community outreach while working at BayCare Health System and Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida.
Neely holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of South Florida and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.
